charming about this little town that sweeps me off my feet.\u00a0\u00a0Geared toward art lovers, set along the Avon River, with fabulous restaurants and Shakespearean plays \u2013 makes it a fine day trip.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well known for the Stratford Festival, there is an array of performances including all things Shakespeare.\u00a0\u00a0If you are considering a play or performance, I recommend getting your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stratfordfestival.ca\/\">tickets<\/a>\u00a0in advance and making this a weekend trip.  Consider staying at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparlour.ca\/\">The Parlour<\/a>, Stratford\u2019s Vintage Inn.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s a boutique hotel located downtown Stratford, which has kept the charm and historic character, but also offers the luxuries and amenities you would imagine from the Vintage Inns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just making it a day \u2013 then I suggest taking a stroll down the main streets and square wandering your way in and out of chic shops.\u00a0\u00a0Make your way to explore the Avon River wandering along the riverside trails.\u00a0\u00a0From May to October, you can find\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/artintheparkstratford.ca\/\">Art in the Park<\/a>\u00a0along the river discovering local and regional artists and their work.\u00a0\u00a0One of my favourite things to do is grab a spot on Tom Patterson Island and have a picnic or even just some snacks enjoying the tranquil river views.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"637\" height=\"529\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-11-at-2.14.49-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3406\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-11-at-2.14.49-PM.jpg 637w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-11-at-2.14.49-PM-300x249.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-11-at-2.14.49-PM-313x260.jpg 313w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-11-at-2.14.49-PM-600x498.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 637px) 100vw, 637px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Back into town, you will want to make time to check out the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheothompson.com\/\">Rheo Thompson<\/a>\u00a0Candy Shop.\u00a0\u00a0The food network calls Stratford an \u201cideal destination for chocolate lovers\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0With more than one chocolate shop in town, you will find delicious treats throughout town.\u00a0\u00a0My favourite is Rheo and you must indulge in their signature mint smoothie in milk or dark chocolate.
